World Osteoporosis Day

World Osteoporosis Day

At DS Office Interiors we are proud to support World Osteoporosis Day…

Currently, it has been estimated that more than 200 million people are suffering from osteoporosis. According to recent statistics from the International Osteoporosis Foundation, worldwide, 1 in 3 women over the age of 50 years and 1 in 5 men will experience osteoporotic fractures in their lifetime. Whilst osteoporosis can strike anywhere, shoulders and lower back are probably the first areas where you will feel compromised when working. Once you have osteoporosis, you will have to consider changes in the way you sit at your desk! When you apply proper posture while sitting or standing in a workplace environment, you decrease the risk of damage and pain in your spine and increase your comfort level, functionality, and overall spine health.

The Benefits of investing in an Ergonomic Office Chair

The key benefit here is that it will largely reduce the risk of a person having back pain, because prevention is better than cure! It’s always best to choose a chair with a seat height that will allow you to sit correctly and keep your feet flat on the floor, these chairs will also aid in preventing slouching which can be a primary cause of neck and shoulder pain. Ergonomic chairs are designed to be adjustable so that the user can be flexible in their approach to working and create an environment that is both comfortable and beneficial. When an ergonomic office chair is used, these common complaints can be alleviated or prevented, resulting in massive increase in job productivity.

Love your bones! Do the best for them, no matter their condition. You’re not going anywhere without them….
